ABOUT 4 JAW CHUCKS
A four-jaw chuck is a type of chuck you use in machining operations to hold and rotate workpieces on a lathe or similar machine tool. Unlike the three-jaw chuck, which has three jaws, the four-jaw chuck has four independently adjustable jaws. Each jaw moves independently of the others, allowing for more precise centering and gripping of irregular shapes or non-symmetric workpieces.
The main advantage of a four-jaw chuck is its versatility in holding a wide range of workpiece shapes and sizes.
